Pastoral Care Team
At Macau Anglican College, inspiring a new generation of learners to become successful and confident individuals is not just talk. It’s our promise and we hold it near and dear. Our staff are committed to providing a safe and positive learning environment for students and ensuring their wellbeing is the best it can be. In Secondary, we have a very dedicated Pastoral Care Team which is made up of Form Lead Teachers, Student Counsellors, the School Chaplain and the Head of Secondary. This team meets regularly every week and prioritises safeguarding and the wellbeing of all students.
We understand that a child’s social, psychological, and moral development is crucial to their overall success, and we are therefore wholly committed to nurturing each individual in a supportive environment. The team and our school at large, tap into the opportunities offered by Positive Education to ensure that our students are happy and flourish – which is ultimately what every parent wants for their child. We firmly believe that happy students are happy learners and that students’ wellbeing is closely tied to their academic success.
The team also works with other stakeholders should behaviour issues arise. The behavioural issues are investigated thoroughly and responded to with appropriate and positive behaviour management strategies. This approach aims to address issues constructively and foster an environment where positive behaviour is encouraged. Ultimately, the team strives to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding by promoting positive relationships among students, teachers and parents. The team is here to ensure that every student feels valued, supported, and empowered throughout their educational journey, cultivating a nurturing environment where all children can be inspired to become successful and confident individuals.
