The MATE ROV competition (https://materovcompetition.org/), is an international competition in underwater robotics, aka remotely operated vehicle ROV.
MAC once again joined the explorer class of the competition which is the highest level of the competition where they will be competing with different universities.
The competition requires expertise in software engineering, electrical and mechanical engineering as they will have to develop a ROV that is able to do different tasks.
The competition is located at Kingsport, Tennessee in the USA.
They traveled there and competed at the explorer level alongside other university teams. Despite facing setbacks related to the environment and equipment, our team persevered and ultimately secured 14th place out of 28 teams. Beyond the competition, our students forged friendships with teams from around the world. Notably, we established a strong relationship with HKUST, allowing our students to exchange various ideas with their counterparts.
