Macau Anglican College: Celebrating Excellence in Education

by | Sep 15, 2025 | Uncategorized

Macau Anglican College (MAC), established in 2002 by the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui (HKSKH), proudly celebrates its 22nd anniversary. Guided by a vision to inspire a new generation of learners to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens, and effective contributors, the school upholds its core mission of embracing a multicultural outlook, maximising potential, and being all-inclusive. Operating at full capacity, MAC serves approximately 1,500 students from Kindergarten 1 to Form 6. Notably, it is the only school in Macau offering the Cambridge Primary, Cambridge IGCSE, and GCE AS & A Level programmes, seamlessly integrating the DSEDJ-approved curriculum with the Cambridge international curriculum.

MAC embarked on the DSEDJ School Integrated Evaluation programme in 2023, completing a comprehensive self-evaluation in 2023/2024 and an external school evaluation in 2024/2025. The school’s implementation of its year plan successfully addressed the major concerns outlined in its three-year development plan (2023–2026).

The school has demonstrated strengths in strategic planning. It prioritises cooperative learning, respect for diversity, and the physical and mental health of students and teachers, supported by clear objectives, timelines, and evaluation criteria. The effective use of electronic tools enhances operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making. MAC’s educators are committed to tailoring lessons to individual student needs, fostering inclusivity, and aligning with the school’s vision to nurture every student’s unique strengths.

A culture of lifelong learning and inclusivity is central to MAC’s ethos. The school promotes diverse assessment methods, encourages parental and student involvement, and cultivates a love for reading through initiatives like the Accelerated Reading Programme and student reading partnerships. The Inclusive Education Unit provides comprehensive support for students with diverse needs, while gifted learners benefit from personalised educational adjustments.

MAC prioritises the well-being of students and teachers through positive education initiatives, regular mental health monitoring, and the integration of relevant guidance activities. Student counsellors actively collaborate to address developmental needs, conduct detailed reviews, and implement effective counselling measures.

The school extends its heartfelt gratitude to DSEDJ and the Macau Government for their unwavering support. This partnership has enabled MAC to refine its practices, recognise areas for improvement, and provide the highest quality education for Macau’s future leaders. As it moves forward, Macau Anglican College remains steadfast in its commitment to equipping students for the challenges of tomorrow’s world.
